Ubuntu, icq is fixed in Empathy

It seems icq, the company, is not allowing other clients to connect to their service. Every few months they change the protocol again and the clients fix it in order to connect again. Seems like a stupid ratrace but Empathy is working again using icq.

For those of you who wonder what Empathy is. It’s an Instant Messaging client allowing you to connect to MSN, ICQ, Jabber, Skype, Facebook, AIM, Irc, etc…

    Op zich connect ik via het eigen protocol. Heb het echter ook wel een poosje in een jabber gateway elders gehad. Na de zoveelste storing bij xs ben ik daar mee gestopt en overgestapt op losse protocollen waar mogelijk.

    Empathy is eigenlijk alleen de GUI voor het Telepathy-framework ;-) Maar connect jij via XMPP naar ICQ of via hun oude protocol?
